Axis Atlas Credit Card: How I Stayed in 5-Star Hotels in Thailand Using Points

Have you ever dreamt of enjoying a luxurious 5-star hotel stay without emptying your pocket? Sounds impossible, right? Well, I recently did exactly that during my Thailand trip (Phuket & Krabi), and I’ll show you how you can too.

The secret? Credit card reward points.

In this blog, I’ll share how I used my Axis Atlas Credit Card, transferred points to Accor Hotels, and booked luxury stays at Sofitel Krabi and Avista Grande Phuket Karon—all for almost FREE.

Step 1: Using Axis Atlas Credit Card for Points

The Axis Atlas Credit Card is one of the best travel cards in India. Every time you spend on it, you earn Edge Miles. These Edge Miles can be transferred to multiple travel partners like airlines and hotels.

For this trip, I decided to transfer my points to Accor Hotels (a global hotel chain with brands like Sofitel, Novotel, Pullman, Ibis, etc.).

Step 2: Transferring Points to Accor

  • I logged into the Axis Travel Edge Portal

  • Selected Accor Live Limitless (ALL) as my transfer partner

  • Transferred my Atlas points

✅ Conversion rate: 1 Edge Miles = 2 Accor Point
✅ Transfer takes around 24 hours to reflect in ALL Accor App

Step 3: Booking 5-Star Hotels in Thailand

Once my Accor points were credited, I went ahead and booked:

  1. Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort – A stunning luxury property with one of the largest pools in Asia.

  2. Avista Grande Phuket Karon – MGallery – A boutique luxury hotel just a short walk from Karon Beach Phuket.

And the best part? I payed minimum for the stay – everything was covered using points.

Here are some Pictures from my Stay.

Atlas to Accor Conversion Chart

Here’s a simple chart to help you understand:

Edge Miles (Atlas Points) Accor Points Value in ₹ (approx) Hotel Credits
4,000 8,000 ~₹14,000 – ₹15,000 2–3 nights at Ibis / 1–2 nights at Novotel
8,000 16,000 ~₹28,000 – ₹30,000 1–2 nights at Sofitel / Avista Grande
20,000 40,000 ~₹70,000 – ₹75,000 3–4 nights at luxury hotels in SEA or 2 nights in Europe

💡 Quick Note: Accor points can only be redeemed in blocks of 2,000 points, each worth €40 (approx. ₹3,500–4,000).

Other Transfer Options from Atlas

Axis Atlas doesn’t just work with Accor. You can also transfer your points to airlines and hotel partners. Some popular ones:

  • Airlines: Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Air France Flying Blue, Etihad Guest, Qatar Airways Privilege Club

  • Hotels: Accor, Marriott Bonvoy, IHG

This makes Atlas a super flexible travel card for Indian travelers.

Nitty-Gritties You Should Know

  • Transfer Ratio: 1:2 (Atlas Miles → Accor Points)

  • Annual Capping: You can transfer up to 30,000 Edge Miles per calendar year to Accor (i.e Jan to Dec)

  • Redemption Rule: Redeem in blocks of 2,000 Accor Points

  • Best Use:

    • Accor has 5,000+ properties worldwide (Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis, MGallery).

    • While Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia) gives exceptional value due to lower hotel pricing, you can also redeem in Europe, Middle East, USA, and Australia for premium properties like Sofitel Paris, Pullman Dubai, or Novotel New York.

    • This makes it a global benefit, not just limited to Asia.

Final Thoughts

If you love luxury travel but hate burning cash, the Axis Atlas Credit Card is a must-have. With the right planning, you can enjoy 5-star stays for free, just like I did in Thailand.

So next time you swipe your card, remember – those points can turn into a free holiday! 🌴✈️
